Hi, my name is Angel Hernandez and I happen to share the same name as the MLB umpire although our skill sets are quite different. While I don’t know enough about baseball to be an umpire, I have had experience working as the following:
Tech Support Technician – I am primarily a Windows guy but occasionally work on Mac products as well. I have been messing around with Windows since 3.1 and of course am familiar with DOS (yep, I’m not as young as I look).
Project Coordinator – I ensured that projects were completed and revisions resolved for a construction engineering firm. I dealt with landlords, developers, contractors, and construction code officials.
Webmaster/Web Designer – I have operated and designed all sorts of websites, from business sites to forums/blogs in a wide range of niches.
Teacher – When it comes to languages, I have taught English and Spanish. Other topics I have taught include: Web Design, Video Game Design, and AutoCAD. I have worked with children, teens, and adults.
Improv Comedy Facilitator – I hosted a drop-in improv workshop in NYC for improv performers of all levels.
Event Planner – I have hosted several video game events in the past, been involved with a couple of STEM events and even assisted with music concerts (pop, opera, and Sufi).
Writer – I have written numerous product reviews (primarily video games and tech accessories). I have published some poetry as well.
About Angel
Angel Hernandez earned a B.S. in Computer & Information Technology from Purdue University but has dabbled in other fields outside of tech as shown above. At the moment, he is based out of the greater NYC area. He has given talks at schools to raise awareness about issues such as STEM education and learning another language as he is very passionate about those topics. He has done quite a bit of traveling as well which helped him gain some interesting insight into how other cultures function.
